Akima Club Awards More Than $112,000 in Grants to Area Nonprofits

Akima Club of Knoxville is excited to announce the Akima Grants awarded to non-profit area agencies in May totaled $112,507. These funds came from revenue generated by a very successful Akima Cabaret 2026 presented in February. The 43rd production of Akima Cabaret raised a record $215,343 to cover grants to be given in 2026 and 2027. Having received seventy-six grant applications, sixty-seven met the criteria for funding and were approved. Seventeen of the 67 approved requests were fully funded meaning Akima was able to meet the agencies’ entire financial need for which they applied. Akima members wish to thank the generous sponsors and patrons of Cabaret 2026 who made these awards possible. Akima is a 501(c)(3)organization whose members provide thousands of volunteer hours to the community through numerous non-profit agencies as well as providing financial assistance through the Akima Grants program.
